I think what Stacks are saying is to ignore the value of the shaved ingot. Just bid based on the consignors idea of what they wish it was worth in the amatuerish framing job.

COA in the frame says the faceplate was preserved by being milled, my guess is it's pretty thin. Hard to believe the weight isn't recorded somewhere. What a strange way to sell something like that.

I'm guessing the weight of the faceplate is buried in QDB's Central America book somewhere.

And I'm sure the Stack's people will tell you, if you really want to know.

Come to think, I guess I own part of that bar already since I bought one of the commemorative pieces they made from it.

Just bid based on the consignors idea of what they wish it was worth in the amatuerish framing job.

I think only the original weights were listed, not the "post-processing" weights. Will check tonight - good idea.
