Does the color of your scan background affect eBay sales price?

NBCNews

Interesting article on the background color of auctions. It basically says that red backgrounds incite higher levels of aggression in auctions and translate into higher bids. However, this backfires on BIN/Best Offers and results in lower offers.

In the end... Red for auctions and Blue for Best Offers.

Seeing PWCC and Probstein123 auction results I would have to disagree and say that Black is the best for sports cards.

Black makes the card pop out. I will always do a black background. I always center my cards too.

Liquidating my collection for the 3rd and final time. Time for others to enjoy what I have enjoyed over the last several decades. Money could be put to better use.

Generally speaking, I skip all card auctions that have a white background. To me, white backgrounds are trying cover something up. That is my first assuption. As long as the background contrasts with the card board color then I will look and judge from there. This includes graded cards.
