Ugliest PSA 8 ever?

The first link is to what a regular psa 8 looks like.

The 2nd link is also graded the same but I dont know how this got an 8 as well. Is PSA normally this inconsistant?

  • This is a perfect example of that famous saying on here. "Buy the card, not the holder".

I don't know why someone would get this one when they can get another 8 around the same sale price.

Being a member on this forum, I've learned to be a bit more picky when it comes to centering when buying a graded card and that not all same graded cards are equal.

I'm convinced that there are people that buy graded cards that never look at the actual card! image
  • Wow, that is a big difference. I agree that you should buy the card and not the holder.

that's a gross 8, but the top 8 is also very nice for an 8 and couldn't probably be resubbed for a small bump

the ugly is an 8 due to the edges.. and less then sharp corners.. could be a 7
the better 8 is oc t-b

Shue when you resubbed do you crack out first? Sorry if it sounds silly, I have spent the last 2 years on the coin forum.

i am NOT an expert on this, but IMO cracking out and resubbing is better

Cracking and resubbing is far preferred in my experience. No bias based on the earlier grade and an incredible difference in turnaround time. I am three months into a review sub right now in fact...

  • What a freaking embarrassment. I realize that the business requires fast grading of modern cards, but there is no excuse for that.

Thanks mini, I figured that was the anwser. What if you purchase a graded PSA card but aren't 100% sure it's authentic, in that case you wouldn't want crack to re submit and lose the warranty if indeed it's not authentic. So I guess while a PITA I will submit intact for a re grade then if it comes back authentic crack open and re submit, Let the grading games begin image

Thanks to all the card guys for helping me get back up to speed after a 30 year lay off.
