Advice needed. Autographs at National

I finally pulled the trigger and am going to the National. Haven't been to one in 15 years or more. Purchased the package that gives me all the autographs, and lets me go to the front of the line as well.

My thoughts were to stick to baseball (with the exception of Gordie Howe) and sell the balls I don't want on eBay to offset some of the cost of my trip. Figured I would pick up 2-3 dozen balls before going.

Specifically, my question is; did they quit making separate balls for the AL and NL? I saw blank balls advertised that didn't seem to say either AL or NL.

Other than that, any suggestions on how to make a little money with the free autographs? Getting footballs or helmets autographed is out as I am looking to travel light.

The other thing I am wondering (hoping really) is to be able to find some of the "oddball" items for my registry set. Bazooka, Post and Jello issues from the 60's don't seem to pop up on eBay in high grade very often. Any one know of some dealers to look for that specialize in that stuff?

I do not know what ticket package you purchsed......but there is no ticket package that i can see that gets you ALL of the autographs.

There is a Super VIP Package that gets you all 18 of the VIP signers. This ticket @ $269 also gets you first in line for all the other autograph guests but you will have to buy tickets for them. The VIP signers are mostly no name signers most of which are of local (baltimore) interest. Selling these autoed ball on ebay is not going to net you much money.

There is also another "pass" (Platinum) you can buy @ $599 which get you the following:


First in Line for All Autograph Guests

- Jim Bunning Any Item Ticket
- Rich Gossage Any Item Ticket
- Rocket Ismail Any Item Ticket

They dont make AL/NL balls anymore. Im sure you can find the baseballs your looking for on eBay but now your looking into spending more than you wanted to on shipping cost so it might not be worth it.

Well that kinda does burst my bubble. I bought the All Access SUPERVIP Package and it sure appeared that I would get all the autographs and first in line privileges.

I will have to study further.

Thanks for the answers on the AL/NL ball thing. Now I guess I can focus on buying that oddball stuff!

Probably not to late to get a refund and get different (cheaper?) package.
