Picked Up a Nice Gilliam RC Today!

Got this card today at a local flea market. No creases, soft corners, and minor edge wear, overall nice looking. Not sure on the grade it would get, probably in the 4-5 range.

Very nice Gilliam rookie. I love this card and the Podres rookie as well.

Yep. He should have said "card that 99.999999% of the world thinks of as his rookie"

ETA: great pickup by the OP.

People can rave all they want about the 1952 Topps set; I think 1953 was the aesthetically superior product.

I couldn't agree more. It's far and away my favorite Topps set of all time. 1952 comes in 3rd for me.

    Nice pickup!

I agree as well. I love the 52's, but i think 53's have a much better look to them.

    +1

I completed a 1953 set a couple of years ago and it was one of the most thrilling collecting moments I've ever had.

The '53 set is one of the best looking sets ever and highly underrated, as there are few HOF RCs. I'd love to own some original artwork from it.

I concur about the '53's -- love them too! Nice pickup on the Gilliam -- I still don't have one. image
