Is it time to stop responding to the ALTS?

Wow, I'm amazed how many of our longtime knowledgeable members get caught up in the cheesy posts made by ALTS and other unhappy folks.

The antagonizing nature of the posts isn't worth responding to. Just let them wither and die.

Nobody actually "wins" an internet argument, nobody gets one up on anyone else.

The guys making these ridiculous posts are just sitting back and laughing as they get you caught up in their unhappiness. Please ignore them from now on - everyone here knows who the good guys are and you don't need to defend yourself against this petty garbage. It's no fun being an ALT if nobody responds.

Life's too short for this stuff!

When was it time to start? I missed that!
  • Well said. I am actually surprised that some of the veterans are going back and fourth with alts. I just read a little and move on. Not wasting my time with any trolls.

I was thinking it was time to stop coming on these boards period.

I am so tired of shills, safety bids, Alts, PSA turn around times.....blah blah

I will leave saying one thing. If you have ever been shilled on ebay or an auction house you might think twice about safety bids or shilling or whatever you want to call it.

    Trust me

When I joined this forum, I had been lurking for awhile. I learned quite a bit in those days. Though there was a fair share of BS, I defended this place as the most knowledgeable and worthwhile community to be a member of. Now, there are no "great" forums. There are a few with strong numbers, and frequent posts, but even they lack the general knowledge that this place once had.

Good call on ignoring. Or maybe we should all get an alt and reply to the alts in mass!

Agree...the drama is getting old. Since I havent said anything on the other threads about it, I will give my 2 cents

"Safety bidding is shilling" - End of Story. Put in a reserve or let it sell for what it does.

Defending it based on who it is and who is arguing with the person doing it is irrelevant.
IT IS ALWAYS CHEAPER TO NOT SELL ON EBAY
  • With the exception of the few truly offensive posts (some of which were posted this weekend), I enjoy brewing up a pot of coffee and following the bickering, personal grudges, and vindictiveness. I enjoy the discussions here about cards too. I like a good mix.
So while I can completely understand why many may be tired of it, I for one hope that people keep responding. I may be in the minority here.

Also, sometime before I die I would like to see someone accuse another board member of being an alt and actually have something to back it up. Cross-referencing with posts on another board, past posts by the corresponding banned member on this board, an EBay account trail, a PM, anything to support the accusation. But nope- it's always "you're an alt" and that's it. Rather lazy, IMO.

Just because someone is a dick doesn't necessarily mean they've had an account here before. They might just be a dick.

I think Walter is an alt. Just a hunch
From what I can tell, 707 is the DOLLAR STORE compared to deans_cards. For what that guy charges, if I ever bought anything from him I would expect it to be delivered to me in a frickin' limo.

I realize I kind of put that one on a tee for someone, but still- nicely done. image
