Does anyone collect "unopened" vending boxes?

Is it possible? Would you have to collect unopened vending box cases?

You bet. Just about all of the vending boxes I have "put away" came directly from BBCE (Steve Hart). They all have his plastic wrap, for safer storage. I believe almost all of the vending boxes I have from him came directly from a sealed case.
He had a nice alotment of 78 Topps BB within the past 6 months. I also picked up a great number of the 1980 Topps BB over the past 6 months. I also have a few sealed cases of the the early 80's BB vending, too.

I realize there is a risk with the "cut" of the cards, but on a rainy day, you can't beat the price of cracking into a 500 count brick of 1980 trying for a sweet Henderson, not to mention all the other HOFer's.

I still haven't cracked into my 1978's, but I sure have had that itch many times.

If it's not a sealed case, the reputation of the seller will have a direct impact on a long term investment. The fact that BBCE labels and shrink wraps the box is important(though I'd imgaine you;d have to request that). I only buy stuff to rip so I haven't myself.
