For 1950s/60s HOFers... what is the perfect card for Grade/Value? - POLL

If you were to assemble a 1950s/60s HOF set, what grade would you select that would provide the best "look" to value? Does a PSA 4 have a good enough "look" where the price point is a lot cheaper than a PSA 5 or does it have to be a PSA 5, PSA 6, PSA 7, PSA 8, PSA 9, etc.?

I guess it depends. If you are looking to accumlate to sell in the future and maximize your profits then I would say go for centered PSA 8 and 9's. If you want to accumlate to build a collection and enjoy, I would go with centered 7's.

When I collected I was a huge fan of nicely centered 7's, for the money they are great compared to spending the extra cash on an 8 in my opinion.

Nicely centered vintage PSA 6 and PSA 7 tend to offer the best bang for the buck. From the standpoint of eye appeal and potential resale value, I feel these are the best value. Shopping wisely can garner some significant savings on cards that present as nicely or even better than cards graded higher that would cost multiple times more.

A collection of strong sevens would have great eye appeal and value.

5's and 6's for me. This is actually what I am doing. You can get nice, presentable cards and not break the bank.
