PSA Wax Pack Holders - Different Types

How many different types of wax pack holders has PSA used?

I think I've identified two different holders: one similar to a PSA card holder (4 straight sides) and one with 4 center prongs. Are there any others?

It looks like the one with 4 straight sides may have been too small for some wax packs causing the pack to gather (crunch). Are there any cons to the one with 4 center prongs (aside from the mobile gum issue)?

I believe just the two holders. The one with the straight sides is their newest holder. I believe they created the newest holder to deal with the gum sliding issue and packs tearing. I personally prefer the newer holder from an aesthetic standpoint, bit wish they could figure out the gum issue.

I know of no known center prong issues outside of the gum issue.

Matt is correct. The holder with the four flush sides is the newer design and was designed to try and prevent the gum from sliding around and tearing the wrapper. I believe that has helped to some degree but the underlying problem is that the hard plastic does not "hug" the pack like the softer GAI plastic design which actually does a better job of immobilizing the gum. The gum is only an issue if it is freely moving in the pack. In vintage packs, the gum is often fused to the top card and in those cases there are no issues anyway.
