Do you think PSA will ever slab Tall Boy packs or Rack packs?

I wonder what their minimum requirement would be to slab Rack packs and Tall Boy packs to make a profit? 500 units? 1,000 units? 10,000 units?

The size of the holder with the plastic they use just wouldn't be cost efficient and be a pain to store. Personally, putting a backer card and box framing them work for me.

Many people have asked PSA and even Joe Orlando directly regarding slabbing rack packs, but they say it is too expensive to create the mold for them and they would weigh a ton too. They should look at something like the old GAI holders which are lighter and more cost efficient to produce. Maybe PSA would run into some patent issues, but I wouldn't think so. With that said, I would think 10,000 units would make it worthwhile to PSA. Someone had posted a thread about what would be the breakeven point for PSA in regard to rack packs, but I don't remember who it was.

BTW, stay safe over there Larry and thank you for your service.

I would love to see it happen, but I doubt it.

I have never used this company before, in fact, until a few days ago, I never even heard of them. May send a few cheap packs and see how things go.

From what I've come to understand, the mold cost for rack grading would be in the range of 6-figures. It would take thousands of
rack submissions just to recoup that initial investment.

While I would love to see PSA gradung rack packs, I have come to accept the fact that it's not going to happen unless someone who
is into collecting and also owns a mold-making company would be willing to cut Joe a really good deal on a mold.

LOL! Did anyone click on the "pack services fee" LINK. I can get my 1984 Topps wax box graded for only $343.00. Looking at the rest of the fees, they are obviously not set up for business yet.

I wonder if that is for the box as a whole or the fee to grade each pack individually. If it's the latter, it's not too bad of a deal.

I suppose Tim but looking at their other fees, something tells me that this might be some college kids class project. I like their cello grading - Express (5 day) service is $7 but if you prefer 20 day service on your 1987-Present cello's it's $32.

If you search eBay, there appears to be many generations of CSA holders.
