I am in for anything. I love the 70's rips. I would be up for an 86 Fleer BK rip if he had another full box. I have been very lucky on his 86 Fleer BK packs at the National. Believe it or not, I have hit 3 different Jordan Rookies ( all about 8's maybe a 9), in the past 5 years.

I would be up for 79 OPC Hockey, 1976 Topps Football, more 81 Topps Football, all 70's Baseball. 80-81 Topps Basketball is a fun rip too and at a nice price point, yet.

    Just some ideas.

I think Saturday around noon, sounds great. That allows folks to do the PSA lunch on Friday (if they want), and gives others that are traveling time to be part of the rip.

One thing to consider, is someone that is hitting the show right away on Weds night. Maybe they could have Steve reserve a few things for us to group rip, in that some of the really "good stuff" may be gone right away.

Great idea for a group rip at the National. Looking forward to meeting some of you in person, as well.

Dty, good ideas. I was thinking about the Wednesday thing. Once I get a good idea of how many people want to participate, I will e-mail Steve to set-up. I will try and see if I can reserve something then if possible.

This sounds like a great idea to me. I'd be in for anything baseball from the 70's. Maybe I'll even rip something. image

Saturday at noon sounds like a good time to me as well. Looking forward to seeing everyone in a couple of weeks.

I'm trying to drum up interest. What better way than an unopened collector ripping a pack.

Even I (Racing guy) would like to do some 80’s baseball. Wednesday sometime would be a nice way to kick off the week! Is there any way to do a break over dinner? If it's Wednesday just remember some guys will be doing the free signing's.

1984 Donruss, 1980 - 1983 Topps, fleer or Donruss packs.

You might consider organizing something with the PSA National Special for grading after the rip, so anyone that pulled something big could get them graded under the special.
    Registry Sets:
    T222's PSA 1 or better
  • I would definitely be in!! Doesnt matter the product just let me know the details. Thanks!!

    Hey guys,

Based on the responses, I have a suggestion to get the most guys involved. What if we are able to determine what is available and post it by Thursday morning. Then we can have rips each day everyone is there. So if you want in but will only be there until Thursday, you sign up for the Thursday group rip. If you aren't getting there until Friday or Saturday, you sign up for that days rip. This way we'll have rips each day and at least a few of the guys can rip together.

Any other thoughts or suggestions. We can even start up a sign up sheet on the first page of this thread or on a new thread with a time to meet that works for everyone. Maybe towards the end of the day.

Hey Mike ("Mr. I never open my packs") ... in the above post you set a new personal record ......
YOU used the word "RIP" FOUR times!
    STAY HEALTHY!

No one said I would actually rip anything open. There are exits at the National aren't there.

Doug, you are right. New record for using the word "rip". Ugh!!! I said it again.

I believe CpaMike and I have come up with a plan that will work for everyone. PLEASE NOTE: THIS IS NOT OFFICIAL. I WON'T GET CONFIRMATION FROM STEVE UNTIL TUESDAY!!!! (sorry for the caps)

We need to keep this easy for Steve because he is going to be very busy. So, here would be the rules:

-Fill out a sign up sheet on the front of this page. Include your username and whether you would like BB or FB. We are trying to figure out where the most interest is in so we know what and how much to get on Thursday.

-The limit will be 2/packs of each different box.

-Since so many people will be at different times, we will be conducting the group break on three days. Thursday, Friday and Saturday at 3:00 pm EST. Basically, everyone who has reserved packs on that day will gather at a specific location to get there packs.

-There are two ways we can handle reserving the boxes. 1.) Do as we normally do and have Steve reserve the boxes and everyone would pay Steve and he would hand out the packs. However, if we think (and Steve) this is going to be to much of a hassle. Then we could go with an alternative. CpaMike and I would purchase the boxes on Thursday. We would leave them shrink wrapped with Steve. When the group break on Thursday started, we would bring the boxes to the location, take off the cellaphane. Everyone would pay us for their packs and one of us would hand the packs in a random order (say top lh, top rh, bottom lh, bottom rh) to make everything fair. At the end of the group rip for that day, we would take the boxes back to Steve to hold until the next day.

-I am trying to get the 10% discount BUT it would only be for the packs included in the group rip.

    Hey Mark,

Put me down for Baseball on Thursday. I guess if we don't get enough interest we could always do another group rip after the National. Just a thought.

    Guys,

I think with alot of people not going to the National and everyone coming in on different days, it seems like the Group Rip is not going to work out. What I would like to do is have an enormous group rip the first or 2nd week after the National.

Sorry for getting some of your hopes up. I thought it would have worked out a little different. I look forward to meeting all of you guys at the end of the week.

Mark, I think this is a better idea as it will allow those not attending a chance to participate. As for those of us who are going, I imagine we'll find something to occupy our time!
