Am I crazy for wanting this?

Ruth - Not in the best condition

When it comes to old cards likes this, I kinda like the beaters. There is more of a story to them then a pristine condition one (not that I'd turn one away).

I just don't know if this is a good price. Any thoughts? (If a board member is seeing this for the first time and snags it, I will take that as a sign that it was not intended for my collection).

Disclaimer: this is NOT my auction that I am promoting. I am sincerely asking for other people's opinions.
I'm building a 1968 and a 1970 Topps set. I have lots of 1970s and 1960s to offer in trade.

I also think it would be wise to pass on this one.

Liquidating my collection for the 3rd and final time. Time for others to enjoy what I have enjoyed over the last several decades. Money could be put to better use.

This one sold last month for only slightly more [$700] and seems more visually attractive

I am actively buying MIKE SCHMIDT gem mint baseball cards. Also looking for any 19th century cabinets of Philadephia Nationals. Please PM with additional details.

Is there a card in existence with more rounded corners?
    (that were originally square)

I say yes, but I also got a thing for Ellen Barkin so consider this advice accordingly.

To get a 33 Ruth under $700 that's about as good as it gets. Buy it, enjoy it and if you want to up grade in the near future auction it off and who knows you might make a couple bucks off of it. image

That is a well loved card. Must have been in a kids pocket for 5+ years!
That thing has a few miles and a story to tell Im sure.
    I like it!

+1 If a lower grade Ruth is what you're seeking, save your $$ till you can pop for a PSA 2 or 3. You'll be much happier. And, if you ever decide to flip, a 2 or 3 will be much easier to move than a trashed "Authentic."
