Vintage wax sellers on ebay to avoid, bad news!!!

These are the big 3 i know of for sure on ebay for vintage pack resealers. 1. rustykiss- sells a lot of bogus 1968,1969 wax packs and some 1950's.
2. maarshall3- The worst, sells 1950's,1960's and 1970's resealed wax, beware, stay far away!!!
3. tbine- mostly 1970's resealed wax and a lot of them, all the time

My friends have told me the bought some resealed 1979 topps baseball wax from-blastfromthepastwarehouse, i trust their word so i will mention them. I hope this saves some people time and $ from these people, peace

P.S. Please list some that you have had bad deals with on vintage unopened product, thanks

Oh, yeah, i cant remember some of the older names they used or still are, i noticed alot of the ones i found out about had the "show me state" as where they were from.

i have heard that, but i never bought anything from him, but a guy i know here in louisville did and said it was a real bad sealing job?. Have you bought anything in the past from him?

Legit, imo, at least from what I've seen.

Is overtime still around. His never ending supply of 79 wax with never a box was quite comical.

The good thing about these sellers is that these wax eseals are obvious to anyone who has even some degree of experience in unopened collecting. It's the more skilled resealers of racks and even cellos that you need to watch out for.

So true, i cant tell what to look for in racks to well. The cellos i can tell pretty good, with the back seals, and corners, tightness. The racks i have a hard time, but i only have 8 pre-1980 racks and trays, and 4 are graded by global, that is not saying much, still graded though. Have a good night.

I have never bought from unopened_dugout but have a lot of stuff I am watching from them. Guess I need to continue to watch and not buy.

Do you guys know anything about about an eBay seller : Stuauto? He sells a lot of wax. I've bought some from him but I only got commons...everytime. I'm not personally sure how to tell like some of you can

If you buy wax on ebay, you are probably going to get taken. Since the only reason to buy wax on ebay and not from a legit dealer is to pay less than the going rate, the buyer pretty much gets what they deserve. Being cheap and wanting something for nothing is why these scams work in the first place
IT IS ALWAYS CHEAPER TO NOT SELL ON EBAY

Don't know about his other packs, but the 79 OPC are definitely authentic (and not worth resealing anyway, lol)..

The issue with buying wax on ebay is that there are honest sellers who unwittingly sell resealed packs because they are getting product from various sources.

In that case, it's sort of like a landmine...those sellers are different from the total scammers who are fabricating packs themselves. Everyone gets taken now
and then. Even Steve had to issue refunds for a 1980 wax box during a group rip that turned out to be resealed.

He has been helping me with my "Brewers on Top" project and everything I have gotten from him has looked clean and case fresh. From memory I have gotten a bunch of '82 Topps and Fleer cello's and some '84 Donruss racks and they have all been great.

Anyone buying raw wax on eBay should insist on getting close up photos showing the ends of the packs on both sides. Getting a good view of the fold lines is probably the best way to protect yourself from bogus wax.

"Good a phellow phish head, what a sweet summer tour, like the phish of old!!! "

yeah it was real good. we did AC, and first two nights of SPAC, SPAC N1 felt like an old show. perfect flow, band ridiculousness, some good jamming in sally->ghost and a few others. def check it out if you haven't heard it.

-- to keep it card focused, i've been collecting a bunch of star on top cellos. I have a ton i'm waiting to get to PSA to get graded once they have another $10 pack special. I'm skeptical of one or two of the cellos that I bought off ebay (notably a 1980 topps FB Payton Top/Simms bottom) and really curious to get them looked at

Perfect advice, that is what i do anytime i but vintage wax, cello and racks is get extra pics of the packs. If they dont send them, or not clear pics, dont bid!!!

I did badger, Cinncy, Cleveland, both deer creek's and ready for St. Louis. One of the best mini-tour i have done in a long while. I am also waiting for the $10-$12 pack special to come up. How often do they come up a year? I have about 25-28 packs needing slabbed, but i can wait for the special, no hurry here. peace
