Is the ANA website down?

Is anyone else able to get on it? When I attempt, my browser just sits in limbo and the site never loads. I had rec'd an email indicating a relaunch was delayed this week but am wondering if that means the whole site is down or ??? Just curious.....

<< <i>They sent an email out stating that sometime soon the site will be down for a major upgrade. >>
I thought it said it would begin late this week and continue through the weekend.
<< <i>Thanks gang, I was wondering if it was just me. I guess that's what they are doing (upgrade). Hopefully whenever they get back online the prior issues are resolved. >>
Boy, I hope so. It was one of the most user-unfriendly sites that I have had to deal with.

<< <i>Perhaps it is just me, but I always thought that the ANA had one of the worst websites I had ever seen. It was especially poor considering the resources of the association. >>
I have always thought that the organization could have done a LOT more with it as well. I found the site to be very busy and randomly arranged. I can't say it was one of the worst I have seen (I've seen some real clunkers) but I will definitely agree with you Tom that I too thought it was surprisingly poor for the resources that the ANA would seem to have access to. I am hopeful the new one is a vast improvement.
<< <i>I can't get in. It would be a good idea, if the ANA started a thread here and posted the ANA convention schedule in it. >>
The convention schedule is located on the World's Fair of Money site here.
Money.Org is hosted separately from WorldsFairofMoney.Com, so you should still have access to the show site even if the main website is down.

Having said that, work has already been done migrating the convention websites (worldsfairofmoney.com and nationalmoneyshow.com) to a stable environment. The switchover of Money.Org was planned for last week but -- in a final review before the cut-over -- some technical issues were identified which caused a further delay.
These changes being done currently are to stabilize the website and restore previous functionality. Plans for a complete redesign of the website are underway and the Board will be getting an update on that in Philadelphia. Trust me, we realize that the current website leaves a lot to be desired and hope to change that in the near future. Unfortunately, there aren't resources to bring a group of new employees in just to work on that.
Having said that, one of our new Executive Director's focuses is technology and he has a strong desire to move ahead with the development and rollout of a new Money.Org.

Money.org re-launched successfully; Site experience improved
ANA looks to begin building next generation website
Money.org, the American Numismatic Association’s primary website, was successfully re-launched on Tuesday afternoon, July 24, with a new content-management system in place that is designed to make the website more stable, eliminate log-in errors and improve the end-user’s experience in the members-only section.
“We experienced a few small bugs right after we launched, and we’ll continue to work those out over the next couple of days,” said ANA Executive Director Jeff Shevlin. “But overall, we feel like our members are getting a much better website that will have fewer problems and much more stability. Now, we’ll turn our attention to building a brand-new Money.org.”
Members can log-in immediately at www.money.org/login.aspx to read the August issue of The Numismatist, pay dues, update address information or change their passwords.
Members who have problems with the website are encouraged to email membersonly@money.org or call Member Services at 800-514-2646 to report issues.
The ANA plans to develop a new Money.org over the course of the next year. Members are invited to suggest features for a new website by emailing ideas to Jake Sherlock, ANA Communication Coordinator, at jsherlock@money.org.
