could this be a ddr buff ?

i was looking at this area...only the "E" of e plurbus
shows either doubling.....double die..... or restamped "E"
if machine/ejection double wouldn't more then one letter reflect that?
it looks like a small "E" was stamped over a large one as there isn't a unidirectional shift
this is a 1921-p...i've heard hub was reworked in 21'...???
thanks in advance for any and all replies

no 1921 ddr listed that i can find
i do see the spot west and north of the E but without better images i cannot comment
didn't find anything for the date in the ADV by pope
.
<< <i>Strange how the marks in the field around the 'E' radiate out like bicycle spokes. >>
i think the same thing. very often seen near the same spot on the reverse of mercs as well.
looks like the metal is actually going inward against the die pressure on the mercs. makes me wonder about the die density effecting the flow and strike.
.
that bottom leg of the "E" sure is interesting on a microscopic level
i wonder if you "teddy" ever take a group of say 3-8 coins to send off to the people at coneca or some other expert that receives coins for examination.
if you ever get $20-80 spare and pick the most intriguing coins to send off it is well worth the experience and education of working with those experts a couple of times.
unless you already do that which makes my point moot.
in any event i'll be wondering about that E for some time
