Have seen them in Lincoln cents and Kennedy halves too. Another one was being sold as trench art with a soldier popping out of the coin. They are scary looking like a scene from alien. Maybe could scare the kids with them.

There are versions on real coins, and there are versions in plated white metal made to look like they were done on real coins. Based on the picture, I'm pretty sure the linked eBay listing is not on a real coin.
The seller's asking price is optimistic even if it was on a real Morgan. I have a white metal version that I'd be happy to sell for MUCH less than being asked.

One of the recent times we discussed these the links put up in posts actually had the dies to make them.I think it was a puched out IHC that kicked off that thread.
26.7 grams is the weight, per seller's measurements. So, I do believe this is a real dollar. It says it's a Philly coin but I thought I saw an S mint mark. Would not matter as it is just so unusual and I've never seen one before. Cool factor is high but maybe not quite that high at that price. If you had the press and punch you could pump out thousands of these and at the asking price it would not take long to get rich! Somebody had a neat idea and invested quite a bit into the process to make these.

My question would be, was this done recently, or back in the day?
