This is PCGS photograph of new 1957 type B reverse quarter in MS-67

Nice picture taking by PCGS!

Note that the photograph shows what may appear to be some doubling in the left side of the obverse. Looks like late stage doubling to me? It also could be a shadow effect under the PCGS lighting?

Also look st the L of LIBERTY.

This was already in a MS-67 PCGS slab but it was not attributed by PCGS. Pinnacle Rarities sold to me not realizing it was a type B reverse. I alerted them to this variety and raised their price to me.

Very Nice example of a type b 1957. They are very common in that date, but with that color and grade, not so much.

    Congrats!

It takes a heck of a 57 Type B to get PCGS67 and that is a great example. I've got one that's taken several trips and keeps coming back 66 along with the other five I've submitted it with which are all mundane but also get 66's. Hmmm
I'd like my copper well done please!

That is a great looking Washington. Even better to be a type b also.

He did the proper thing, and alerted them it was a Type B variety (unattributed, naturally) and that it should have a higher price tag, and wound up coming to terms with them for a higher price. Total class act by oreville, but, he IS a class act.
    I'll come up with something.

The proper thing? That's O.K. for you to believe, but since the current PCGS Guide price for a 1957 Washington quarter in MS-67 is $180, you obviously decided in your mind that Pinnacle's double premium over the PCGS guide price for the coin didn't quite fulfill the variety value. Good for you.image

I would have brought it to their attention also, but I would likely have passed on a price higher than the $350 that they were already asking. JMHO.

coindeuce, pinnacle originally asked $175 for the quarter.

I raised the price but below the PCGS price guide to give me wiggle room to pay PCGS the required fee to get the coin in the correct variety attributed slab.

Good business for a long term relationship.

You and I have done the same with each other, not specifically raising prices but being reasonable with each other?

Thanks for the clarification. It certainly did seem out of context for Pinnacle to have offered the coin unattributed at $350. They still show the coin in inventory for some odd reason though. And I have no qualms about your decision to inform Pinnacle. Although, I have been in the position recently where after having added value to another parties coin that had been for sale, the other party made no effort whatsoever to compensate for even a fraction of the added value. There is something to be learned from the old adage "No good deed goes unpunished".image

    Is this the same coin?

Realone, I've just realized that there are two Type B PCGS-67's that Pinnacle has offered. The coin purchased / imaged by the OP, and the one still available at Pinnacle's website. How's that for some Sunday clusterfooge ? image

These are indeed two entirely different quarters.

Pinnacle must have a few of these from their source?
