Is this really a Morgan 1888-O Vam 15 Hot 50???????......Updated with PCGS holder pic

Picked this up on Ebay for very little money. My research thinks that an MS 1880-O Vam 15 is very scarce. I believe that low-mid grade examples go for a few hundred but not sure about any in mint state. Do I have the real deal? Seems like with a dip, this would be a very clean example. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

For what it is worth, the PCI old 10 digit holder thinks so...........

I see evidence of a re-punched MM, but I'm not seeing the doubling of AMERICA.
Maybe it's the pic, dunno.

EDIT:
I see it in the A of AMERICA and the RIC I believe.
Appears to be the real deal, others will chime in for sure.

At the time the Hot 50 book was written, no uncirculated specimens were known. The VAMView retail price guide lists MS60 at $2000. Get this in our host's holder post haste!

Let's be careful here. The PCI green holders were re-issued recently by the new owner and the coin quality was over-graded hyped crap. As far as I know there's no way to tell if this was a recent issue or not. I do agree with
crossing it, but don't assume it will go MS60.

Fair enough. Caution is always good.

It's an old 10 digit holder. I collect them and know the font used as well. I have zero doubt it is an old holder with age too. Probably around 1990. As far as VAMs go, I am a total rookie though and don't have that knowledge I am extremely excited at the possibility that this is the real deal and in mint state. I look forward to getting more info!

Thanks everyone for the input so far. If this does hold up to be a VAM 15, any thoughts on it making it into a PCGS holder? I definately think it is MS but does have some marks etc.

From what I can see, it looks gradable. Yeah, it's a little banged up, but that's what the grades up to 63 are for. Too bad about the planchet inclusion by the mint mark. I don't think that will keep it out of a graded holder, though. Embedded sawdust is common for 1880's O-mint Morgans.

the key to the holders is as stated by Constantine, the serial number and the font, generally i'll look at the "6" to tell the difference when the reverse can't be seen.

as doubling goes, it is pretty strong and for sure naked eye strong.
