Hey guys ... I think Chaz has admitted MANY times that he said something he should not have said. He apologized. Let's leave it at that and hope that Steve and Reed continue to post.

He did the right thing by admitting he made a mistake and I give him credit for that. I think he sometimes posts what he does to stir the pot a bit, and I think this thread just got out of hand.

Although unfortunate, I do agree with Steve's position. I wouldn't want my employee engaging in an argument on this board. I have enjoyed Reed's posts, but there really wasn't a need for him to defend BBCE because the vast majority here already values what they bring to the table.
Lest we forget the inherent value that is already priced into every BBCE transaction. A notoriously principled company that routinely eliminates any inkling of trepidation? All day. Anything beyond that, i.e., discounts, and we've suddenly entered the debt of gratitude realm.
I have no problem with BBCE setting the market with their pricing! If they can get $1700 for 75 mini boxes that just makes my cases worth more! That & all you unopened horndogs busting them, lol!!
Hey Nikklos....more likely those 79's will be the same o/c crap like the 70 box you busted & lost $$ on. Have fun!
I am going to miss Reed's excellent posts. Like someone mentioned earlier, a lot of us would love to have his job. The road trip stories were really great. Take care Reed. It was a pleasure.

BBCE is high on alot of there unopened product i will take ebay anyday, where if you get a bad box you are covered by ebay buyer protection. just find the good, honest sellers on ebay and you will get it alot cheaper, for sure!! not everyone can afford bbce prices, like $20 for 1978 topps bb wax pack, thats crazy high! so we little people go to ebay, by far the best. all you people who complain more and more about ebay, quit going on it!! but you talk and talk about ebay and still your buying/selling something on it 4 hours later after complaining about them, come on!!!!
<< <i>I'll say it again...Steve does a great job....but 10% is not a special. Hey, he can do whatever he wants. I just thought it would be nice to give maybe 15% on some selected items if you buy $150 or $200 worth of product. C'mon, any of you guys that work for him go to business school? It's basic. chaz >>
If you knew anything about business (sales in particular), then you would know that losing 10% off the top takes away a large chunk of your profit margin. In order to stay competitive and keep food on the table at the same time, you can't tack on too much of a margin on products like this. The fact that BBCE has even 10% of wiggle room is amazing to me. Especially with the overhead expenses of sending employees driving all across the country in a box truck looking for collections, the cost to store everything, etc. All this and keeping a smile on his face while the likes of ungrateful people like you come crying for an extra 5%. Seriously, STFU.

I treat customers, both buyers and sellers, very well. I'm not perfect, as there is probably a nice list of disgruntled people, but if you think my skills are lacking, surf this message board a little longer for the truth.

As for raw wax on ebay, I'd estimate that at least 75% of it is bad or resealed. Sure, there are a few reputable sellers but why deal with the hassle of returns and wasting money on return shipping? Unless you're very experienced, it's often very difficult to tell if pacsk ahve been rsealed as well. You yourself have started several threads already wondering what to look for to tell if a pack is good or not. Dealing with Steve and his staff at BBCE eliminates that uncertainty and doubt.

There are some nice boxes on eBay. There are some trustworthy sellers also. There are also a lot of crooks. BBCE prices on newer material is,largely, either cheaper or right with "completed listings" pricing. Trust me, I spent a few hours checking prior to a large order.

After reading this thread, I am more than a little confused.
chaz mentions he would like to see some lower prices and/or specials and he gets his head bitten off. Nowhere did I see him attack BBCE or Steve's charachter or reputation.
Are there people here that aren't allowed to be spoken about unless we are saying how wonderful they are?
BBCE has a great reputation and deservedly so, but is it so wrong to hope, ask or wish for lower prices?
Personally, I think if you are going to buy unopened and rip it, you are more than likely going to lose money, so I don't do it. If I want a particular card I go after it, and I try to get it at THE LOWEST PRICE POSSIBLE!
chaz, I hope the bleeding has stopped and your OK.

MAN, I FEEL SORRY FOR YOUR MOTHER!!!!!
chaz mentions he would like to see some lower prices and/or specials and he gets his head bitten off.
