paying sales tax on online purchases

Now in the news (and perhaps expected), is talk of charging sales tax on online purchases.

Anybody know if this would include eBay sales and how the seller would be impacted? I can't find any definitive info on the topic.

Yes no maybe..some ebay sales qualify as "casual sales"(garage sales, craigs list) and are exempt....but if the person is in the business of selling items then possibly they would be required to collect sales tax...Currently, consumers owe a use tax....however most dont remit the tax. Been fighting local legislation in Alabama called Streamline Sales Tax since 2003.
