Got this in large cent lot I bought many months ago. Is this the 1824/2 variety? If so what would you guys grade it, as large cents and EAC grading is not my area. Thanks.
My take - there are 5 varieties of 1824; N1 and N5 are overdates. On N2 and N3 the star 6 points to tip of coronet tip N4 is a wide date and this one does not appear to be that and L on LIBERTY is not low (it is here) That leaves N1 and N5 - N5 has the leaf directly under the upright of the E in AMERICA ==> N1 (T in CENT is low - also on N3 but other characteristics different on N3)
I would net it at AG3 at best and avg-, some might go F2

Great info. How much does a N-1 in this condition go for?
coin JP-- According to CQR (Copper Quote by Robinson) G5 avg 30, VF30 avg 1000 This coin is a case where not worth a lot but relatively scarce N5 (the other overdate) commands a much higher price VF30=$3750 per CQR
