Grocery cello question

Hi, what's the story with these cellos? Are they Topps issued? How many cards? When were they made? Has anyone ripped one?

    They are not Topps issued.
    Approx 10-12 cards
I think they were made around the same time the cards were (i.e. aftermarket made following the selling season)
Do a search here for more details. Many on here know a LOT more about them than I do.

They are bogus and were not produced by Topps. The only authentic cello packs from that era were jumbo cellos housed in a cardboard box. GAI holdered a bunch of them in error during the Rutter era. All of those have cert# s beginning with 102. They will not holder them anymore and of course PSA never did.

Collecting 1970s Topps baseball wax, rack and cello packs, as well as PCGS graded Half Cents, Large Cents, Two Cent pieces and Three Cent Silver pieces.

grote15 would be an example of what I meant by "Many on here know a LOT more about them than I do. " image

  • i had a 1971 and a 1972 i bought on ebay a while back and they are fake, cards are real, but both tuned away at gai, i got them cheap there is that same guy on ebay that still sells them once in a while ebay name is (sweetdealsforunow) or close to that. He had a 1967 the last time i saw one on ebay. even the ones graded by gai like Grote said were fake, all the 102 #'s on the gai holders is where almost all were graded during. i oened the 2 i had cards were off-centered and there were 12 cards in each of mine, no stars, they were all from the same series though. the best card i got was a 1972 L. aparicio. I emailed the guy selling them and he said he does not know, he knows what he is doing. he had a picture of a huge box full of the 1971 so-called grocery cellos when i won mine on ebay, it looked like there were about 100 of them or more in that cardboard box.
