Its fake, I would even doubt the contemporary story. Looks to me if someone just took a fake and doctored it up a bit to look more convincing.

I did the piece looks off metal and has issues with the lettering that to me say counterfeit. The reverse also has the weak struck and just off look you see on the china mint counterfeit.

Also what is really sad is that people are buying tens of his coins where he clearly states they are counterfeit (and decent looking ones at that) most probably to try and flip to a lesser aware person
