A HUGE Thank You to Mike Navarro

So Mike sent me a message stating that he has an item that will fit in with my collection and would like to send it my way.

Below is the AWESOME GIFT!!!!
It is a 1958 Topps Les Richter Card slabbed in a SGC holder
It is my first ever 1958 Topps football card
It is my first ever card of Hall of Famer Les Richter
The Rams are my favorite team --- have been ever since Pat Haden (I have the #1 PSA rated set)

But what makes this card out of this world -- it looks like this card once belonged to Gary Carter --- on the back you can see that he signed his name. Been trying to find out the full story on these cards (there have been others out on ebay recently) but as you can see SGC slabbed it as authentic. Gary was a HUGE collector of cards and to think that this was his and now mine is amazing. Maybe he put his name on it to keep it separated from his brother Gordon's collection - who knows.

The special meaning behind the history and the fact that someone thought that I would enjoy it has quickly jumped this into the top 5 items of my collection. Like I told Mike I can't wait until someone asks "Why the heck do you have a football card next to all your Gary Carter items.

Mike also sent along the 7 Carter cards as well.

Mike, thanks once again -- this was an amazing gesture and I am forever grateful

Liquidating my collection for the 3rd and final time. Time for others to enjoy what I have enjoyed over the last several decades. Money could be put to better use.

    really cool....

These cards were a part of Gary Carter's (Childhood Football Card Collection) Back in the late 1950's and early 1960's! The cards were used to flip against other kids cards in the neiborhood. Gary signed a handful of these cards on the back in cursive hand writing. Making them vintage childhood signatures of this Hall of Fame Baseball player. This is probably one of the few cases were the more the card was beat up the better, due to the fact that it was handled and well loved by Carter!

So basically my kid won't be able to go to college, but at least I'll have a set where the three most expensive cards are of a player I despise ~ CDsNuts
