OT - Video Game collection sells on ebay for 1.2 Million

I've always felt that video games are this generations baseball cards. Meant to be played not saved and collected. That being said, this collection is amazing in its completeness.

If you only went by original retail price, how much would that collection be worth?

  • From the article:

<< <i>Andre said the big question now is whether or not he'll actually get paid.

He's owed exactly $1,230,699.99 along with a shipping cost of $1,230.70, but if he does get his money, Andre said the rare collection is heading to Canada. If not, he has backup plans. >>

I only have $1,076,422 in my Paypal account; hopefully I can get Bill Me Later for the balance.

I would be fairly surprised if this auction is completed. I realize there are a lot of rare games out there, but the article stated 7000 games, well at 1.2 million and if my math is correct, thats about $172 per game. Some of the rare Atari games can go for that and even more, but I just cant see there being that many rare games out there, but who knows.
IT IS ALWAYS CHEAPER TO NOT SELL ON EBAY
