I know it stinks, but 20 working days per month means May and June were 40 days. Should be any day now.image

My march sub was entered on 4/24 and popped this past Tuesday. There is still hope for you. My other March sub entered 4/25 is still pending.

Jeff, only you would have found a program to check the business days. I guess you need to do something when not hitting the refresh button. image

I was getting my hopes up because I'm currently on day 42. Looks like I can expect several more weeks based on everyone else's dates that posted above.

I posted that to illustrate how many days it had been, since there seems to be a differing opinion on how to count business days around here. I still use my trusty fingers and toes to count the days. image

By the way, how did you know that I currently have subs waiting to pop? Yep, still hitting the refresh button on a Sunday evening. It's only been a week, so I have a way to go yet.
  • ldfergldferg Posts: 6,745 ✭✭✭
Looks like they are still lagging. I was hopeful after one of my subs popping last week. I've just been spoiled from past submissions. Oh well, it will pop sometime. image

I posted on Sunday about my sub from May not popping yet. It popped yesterday which was exactly business day 45. However, as of this writing, it still has not shipped. I guess that's the next delay to look forward to.

Sometimes I don't need to know business days to say "What's going on"? Subs that were mailed in early April have not gotten poppage. We're pushing August soon. Maybe some can help me out as to why this is so incredibly slow.

They used to take 2 business days to log in all subs...sometimes 1 day.....now 10 business days. I've heard of an increase in business; but how much of an increase are we talking? 20%, 40%, 60%. Let's get wild and say the increase is 60%. Why is log in time 500- 1000% slower?
Also, if business is booming they better brace themselves for some much slower periods as this is becoming a much too slow process to grade cards and is starting to rub a few collectors wrong.

In the end I'm fine with waiting a little while as long as the grades are mostly correct. For the most part my poppages have been very decent over the years.
  • Finally got poppage, but not very happy. I would not have submitted for these grades:

Brian, sorry your disappointed. PSA is so all over the board with Berk Ross cards. I have seen so many cards that look like 8's sitting in 5 holders and vice a versa. It's just seems to be the set. Are you building this and the 48 Leaf set? Nice task if you are!

That sucks that you waited that long and didn't get the results you were hopeing for. I just had a 10 card 10 day sub that took 17 days to pop and 2 of the cards didn't get graded.. One got a "altered stock" grade which I'm not even sure means.. And the other got "no specs" even though I stapled the email from the spec department confirming that they can grade the card...AND wrote on the submission form to "see attached for specs" ANS wrote on a sticky note attached to the plastic the card was in "see attached for specs" and it still didn't get graded.. The card was even returened with the sticky note still on the plastic. Clarly the grader was too lazy to creat a new flip for the card. That's the most frusrtating part. If you wait beyond the aproximate time you at least expect good service... But instead it sucks

I'd certainly call in and complain on that one. Worth a free trip same as a mechanical error IMO.

When I hear Berk Ross, I think of Bob Ross, but that's just me.

I hear your frustration and can say that I've experienced similar feelings with my last few submissions. Which is why they have been my last, few submissions.

  • Did yours take 15-17 days to be put in the system? i sent 15 packs on May 11th and they arrived at psa on May 14th. They did not get put in to the system until june 2nd, do packs take longer? I guess they have to mail them out to steve, right? thanks

I just wish they would charge your credit card when the sub ships back to you, not when it gets logged in.

I'll assume this is part of the same set where you pulled mainly 7's and 8's on the star cards. this makes it more painful since you were probably expecting the same with the balance of the set.

excellent point on the charge. i can see running an authorization at log in to verify vailability of funds/credit, but when you are sitting on thousnds of dollars in fees for months (in my case) it starts to get frustrating.

  • Yes treetop! I sent in the Dimaggio and others and the scores were so good, I then felt it was worth sending in the commons which were all from the same set of cards. Oh well, live and learn. Rather the big boys come back with the high grades than the commons. I just feel like I totally wasted money sending those in for grading. I knew some would come back as MC or OC, but not as many and some 5MC's I really thought would be 7MC.

What really gets me is when you send in two cards that look identical. One comes back a PSA 8oc, and the other a straight PSA 7. Makes me want to ding a little corner on the 8 and hopefully get a PSA 7?
