There was this article the other day on how various countries have staked their claims to mainly volcanically active parts of the world where they hope to strike the proverbial motherlode in precious metals:

How realistic are their hopes in salvaging gold and other precious metals in the billions with today's technologies and will these finds have a possibly sudden effect on worldwide precious metals prices?

Article geared to excite the reader. They may find something retrievable, then refinable, but thats a long way from changing the existing system it goes into. They'll make new mining shares and ETF, whatever.. If they flooded the market, they know they would undercut themselves. I think it would be controlled. Just a newbie's view.
