Brown spots on baseballs ?

I have a couple of fairy new, and signed, baseballs. I wanted to sell them on eBay, but when I took them out today, I noticed that they each have small brown stains on the ball. Not sure what causes this, but I'm guessing the oils in the leather ? In any event, the balls are crisp white, the signatures are clean too. Just these darn little stains.

Any secrets on removing them ?

I have heard some guys try fresh lemon juice and not the stuff out of the bottle or plastic lemon at the store. Would put a little on a q-tip and see if it works.
