Picked up a 1964 OGP proof set today containing 5 cameos and..........

............... the half dollar is an accented hair variety.
This is a first for me. All 5 coins have two sided frost on the devices and mirrored fields. The only negative is that the half has a few small milk spots under the T in Liberty and has a few small dark spots at about 9:00 on the obverse near the rim since a pinhole sized hole is in the cello.
My wife and I are in Monterey for the weekend and I stopped by the coin shop in Carmel to snoop. Snagged this set four 27 dollars.
My previous best was a 1962 set in OGP with 4 cameos.
Fun day for me.

I don't have any problem with taking some time for coins when on a weekend get away with the wife. If you are enjoying one another's company, you can each take some time to do what the other enjoys and still make it a great weekend.
and it sets us apart from practitioners and consultants. Gregor
The cello can hide or distort things, so I do not know the quality of the frost. It may be that some or all of the coins in the set would not receive a Cameo designation if graded. However there is no doubt that all 5 coins have two sided frost and a cameo look. Too bad they are not all DCAM.

i do notice lack of milk spot reference...one of the first things i dread...can't wait for the update with pictures of "post cellophane"

--- If it should happen I die and leave this world and you want to remember me. Please only remember my opening Sig Line. The five coins in the OGP set clearly have two sided frost on the devices. The reverse frost on the nickel is DCAM. When rotating/tilting the flat pack cello envelope the fields of the coins flash their mirrors as well as their frosted devices. However the cello (which if you look at it closely you will see it is striated) obscures the quality of the fields and the devices.
In short one must look closely at all five coins to truly appreciate that all five coins have a Cameo look and the resulting uniqueness of the OGP set. The clear plastic of a Capital holder shows a cameo much better.
Keets, to answer your question about your prior thread on 1960's proofs, this set has no effect since your thread talked about DCAM coins. However if it talked of CAM coins I would revise my guess of 44 sets down to 41 or 40 (and lower if another early 60's OGP set with 5 cameos showed up).
Interesting that in your thread Segoja states that he bought an OGP 1964 proof set with 5 CAM or DCAM coins in it. Wonder if his was created at the same time mine was.
The more I look at my new set the more I like it.
