New Additions 07-10-2012

1841 N7 State d. R2. F15+ Net12+. Very rare die state. Hard glossy medium brown surfaces. Obverse die crack well defined. $270

1848 N32. R5+ VF 25 Net 20+. Grellman graded 25 Net 20. Tied for 2nd Finest Known in Condition Census. Finest known in census is a 45 coin, with 3 (including this one) tied for 2nd at net 20. Reverse crack outer leaf right of CENT diagonally through R and I in AMERICA to dentils. Hard glossy brown. Normal circulation marks for the grade. Some ticks on lower cheek/neck. Nicer than the Holmes coin, Lot 312 which realized $891. Reiver coin realized $1380. A very low Condition Census for the variety. With the exception of the lone 45 coin, none others graded higher than VF20 in Condition Census. Naftzger sale did not have a '48 N32. Copper Quotes lists the coin at $1380 in 20. NET $995 -ON HOLD-
