Did the ANA ever denote full steps when grading Jefferson nickels?

I am speaking of pre anacs. I won coins in an auction and am curious if they could grade as fs now as opposed to when ANA graded them

I think your lack of responses is because your question is a bit confusing. The "ANA" never graded coins, it has always been done through either ANACS or ANAAB which were both "divisions" of the ANA that provided authentication and grading.

While I have never seen full steps designated on certificates from ANACS or ANAAB, I have seen full steps designated on the later generations of the small white ANACS cache holders.

I can't tell you because I don't collect Jefferson Nickels and my ANA grading standards book is 20 years old.

Actually, astrorat answered my question. I bought coins in an auction sans pics recentl with some descibed as ana and some as anacs. I have to assume some were with certificates when they mean ana and maybe still have a shot at full steps designation
