13 year deals for each. That's a very long commitment for not one but two players.

Barring a disaster, the Wild should be MUCH improved for the next 5 years at least. Not sure how the NHL's contracts work as far as guaranteed money, but they had to do something big. They had the money under the cap.

Wild ownership has given us below average teams for almost their entire existence. The honeymoon was definitely over last year with fans starting to boo and worse yet, stay away.

Inability to draft a true superstar has hurt them, Gaborik was good when he played, but was hurt too often and then wanted out.

With a front line forward and defense-man, there should be some improvement in other players who will drop down a line and face lesser competition (Setoguchi), others such as top prospect Granlund should have less pressure to contribute lots of points right away.

The Wild also have to try to figure out how to keep their best players on the ice as well. Injuries decimated the club last year with concussions a big part of the problem.

    GO WILD!
