Anyone had any ProPay transactions?

I just won a card through a BIN on eBay and the seller had ProPay as the only payment option. This was a bummer for several reasons. First off, I wasn't able to use any eBay bucks towards the purchase. And second, I obviously wasn't able to use my PayPal balance. I thought all eBay sellers had to offer Paypal as a payment option? Was there a way for me to still use my eBay bucks that I missed?

Sellers are required to offer a credit card payment option not necessarily paypal. The drawback is though, as you pointed out, you won't get ebay bonus bucks if not paying via paypal.

Not only that - but I wasn't able to use the eBay Bucks I had accumulated from the last payout. So far, I am not a fan of ProPay being the only payment option for items.

Fortunately, very few sellers use Propay. I've never even encountered one who took only that method of payment. I would think such a requirement might discourage bidding.

It certainly would have, if I had even thought to look prior to making an offer. I'm so used to people taking PayPal that it didn't even cross my mind. Lesson learned.

BTW, Jeff, when is the next episode of Pack Geek going up? I'm a big fan of yours and look forward to new vintage pack rips!

You're the best, Grote - thanks for checking those out. I've been blowing my card allowance (I sound like a 10-year-old kid) on vintage boxing and prewar baseball lately, but I'll have to eventually do some more pack rips. It's almost always a losing proposition, but it's a heck of a lot of fun none-the-less. I appreciate you asking about them, though - and there will eventually be more!

    Happy 4th!
