1971 Topps Joe Grenne on Ebay. Thoughts?

I been a collector of high grade 71 Football for almost 40 years now, But Ive never seen one with a white or bleached out back like this one. (Reprint?)

I also do and SGC set and I am well awhere of the frosting the slabs display just from the sealing process.

In light of my concerns that the card is possibly a reprint? The bottom of the slab looks to have a little more than the usual frosting.

Seller seems to have good Feedback. I contacted him and requested to see the back of the card which he gladly posted in the auction.

I have not heard back from him as to the explanation of the white back and did not question him about the bottom of the slab.

I would also like to request a better scan showing the whole slab all the way out to the edges.

Thoughts?

Could be that the seller scanned the card with the contrast setting turned way up.

Vertical Edges look suspect. This seller has been discussed on thee boards in the past. There is probably a good reason this isn't in a PSA slab.

    Thanks,

  • Seller says the card backm is due to the scanner and does have the origianal Gray card stock.

"Why its not in a PSA Slab" That angle is hogwash to me. My only concern was weather the slab had been compromised.

The card is already headed over $300 which is entering the stupid money IMHO.

I will be on the hunt for a nice centered 88. I would also be willing to cross a PSA 8, but have yet to see one that would cross.

    Thanks for the input guys!
