I'm no expert, but given the circumstances, I don't like it. It's got that "fake aged" look that so many counterfeits have, the seller is located in Asia and the Chinese have been dabbling in error coins for a while. I couldn't find any auction listings for it. The Cert # is valid, but that really doesn't help much without an accompanying picture. Just my two cents...

it is my opinion the morgan off-center is 100% not authentic

besides the fact it looks like pot metal, look at ALL the letters obv/rev, stars and several other features

these two trades have problems, real problems.
trade 1: looks horribly cleaned but worse than that it's a fake. Look at the dentils to the right of the date.
trade 2: also a fake, underweight is the key here.

My opinion.

Chinese reproductions of US coin errors have been popping up at US coin shows and shops on the West Coast for at least five years. Coin World presented a very detailed article a couple of years ago on just what is being counterfeited. Early US errors are purposely aged to fool the unsuspecting collector and fake coins are showing up in fake PCGS holders. I have seen several very, very good copies of offcenter buffalo 5C errors, usually better dates. The coin metal used is slightly off color, so the nickels don't look quite right at first glance. However, a very astute dealer at Santa Clara showed me his great purchase from the public of a BU 1918S 30% offcenter and he was salivating with glee on the money he was going to make. Unfortunately, it was a chinese copy, much to his chagrin. This was 4 years ago.

If the coin was actually struck on a press set up similar to the real thing, wouldn't the physics that causes the split serifs still come into play?
