At the Baltimore show I showed the piece below around and asked people their guesses for what pcgs graded it. Lots of answers were given and yet- not one correct answer.

hey thats what i was going to say!
You'd think the PCGS crew would have something in their software that prohibits printing out an MS grade for less than 60 - that strikes me as very strange.
So this is all strange to me

<< <i>The stupid thing is, that coin is actually "worth" more than the exact same coin in an AU55 holder.

It's a pretty simple program to write to prevent something like that.
Neat holder/grade - thanks for posting.
<< <i>Doesn't look like it's browning to me.

Are you saying it's not ex JB DBC and a MS55 details holder
Seriously pretty coin and I hope no one gets the slab insert fixed

<< <i>I don't know anything about gold, but when I first saw the pic i thought that this was going to be an example of putty on the cheek. Again I know nothing about putty, but the lighter cheek grabbed my attention and thus I thought this thread had something to do with the coin's appearance. Now that I know the subject of the thread is about the holder, can someone explain to me what is going on with the area of and around the cheek? Thanks! >>
RO, I feel it's just a figment of joebb21's angled photography not the cheek itself. While on the subject of putty and gold... Puttying is also done on silver and commonly seen on Morgan dollars which are played with just as much as gold. I can't recall if it's actual auto body putty or a product used in the dental industry... However it turns brown with age on silver instead of tan as on gold,
<< <i>Now the real question... will it sticker?

That's a good one Paul
