Is eBay time screwed up?

ajaanajaan Posts: 17,600 ✭✭✭✭✭
or is it just me. I have auctions ending in about 7 minutes and eBay says they end in 7hrs 7 min. Click on the link and let me know if you get that also. There isn't any darkside material so this isn't spam.

eBay has added 7 hours to the auction close time for the list of auctions. I figure this is going to cost me a couple hundred dollars with people thinking the auctions are closing in 7 hourd. Thanks eBay.

It's 14 hours here. There's inflation for you.

Their search does seem to be messed up for some auctions. However in my Watched Items it shows the right time. And so far my auction ending tonight is showing correct time. I would contact ebay, Don.

Seems to be OK now. But that didn't do me any good when my auctions closed. I get most of my bidding the last 30 seconds of the auction. If bidders thought the auctions were ending in 7 hours instead of minutes, they would have just moved on.

Well, most serious bidders snipe anyway, which would explain the last minute bids.

I just bought an 8 Reales that was also messed up in search (7 hours 7 minutes) and the bidding went from 250 to 480 in the last seconds of the auction when the snipes went off.

yesterday I was bidding on a coin on eBay Netherlands , in the last couple of minutes it suddenly goes to time left: 7 hours and 7 minutes ,
I refreshed the page and now it was 30 seconds, I placed my bid of 43,50 euro, nothing happens, instead I got an empty form and was asked
to place a bid , I quickly entered 44 euros, but now the auction was over , highest bid 42 euro,
    thank you eBay image

I noticed it too. The dreaded leap second bug would be my guess. Power outages to the east coast did not help with cloud computing enterprises such as eBay and Amazon.

My biggest buyer, over $3000 in the past couple months, doesn't use sniping. I'm convinced this 'bug' cost me money in lost revenue.

UGH That sucks, I know the feeling. This used to happen to me before I started using a Sniping Service.

Now I just set it, go out to dinner, come home to find what I've won and what I've lost.

I lose many auctions, and I dont mind, part of the fun,
If I win I'm happy, If I lose , I save my money for another day.
this is the first time in 10 years that I have this kind of trouble with the system,
    hope its the last time.
If its gonna happen more times in the future , I may consider one of the sniper systems.

I have had that happen when I was the Under bidder to two people when I entered my Bid.. I can 2 sec snipe with the best of them and a check of the bidding has shown that my bid was the same as the high bid or I was already overbid when I bid.

Never had the time problem though, but would suspect the Storm was the cause image
