Might have been a present from a loved one or first card they ever owned.

My guess is that it was from a childhood collection and the owner just wanted to protect what was left of it.

If it was sentimental why is he selling the darn thing then. I was floored when I saw it up for auction.

it will soon have sentimental value to someone else who regrettably used their other Van Brocklin rookie to wax the car.

Because it's a HOF rookie card and with SGC it could very well be the highest ever graded.

Too true; taking a tour through the pop reports can be a real eye-opener. I don't know what would possess someone to grade commons from the 1994 Topps Traded set, but to each his own.

The colors really pop against the black SGC holder

He wasn't sure if this was a RC or not and needed the SCG label that included the word "Rookie" to confirm his suspicions.

At least it will distinguish between a authentic card and a fake made to look old.

an authentic gets you zero registry points and a 1 well 1.

That's the kind of card you keep raw and carry around with you
in a back pants pocket like some of us did when we were dumb kids.
The condition couldn't get any worse.
