What will I grade?

Sending this one out on Monday. How much will the dirty back affect the grade? Any guesses on what the grade will be?

"My father would womanize, he would drink. He would make outrageous claims like he invented the question mark. Sometimes he would accuse chestnuts of being lazy. The sort of general malaise that only the genius possess and the insane lament. Our childhood was typical. Summers in Rangoon, luge lessons. In the spring we'd make meat helmets. When we were insolent we were placed in a burlap bag and beaten with reeds - pretty standard really."

  • Grade is in - and it's what I feared. Turnaround time for a 5 day order was 5 days... but the grade came in about 1.5 grades lower than I and all of you expected. Wondering if there's a bunch of new graders, leading to overly strict grading.

    Card came back a 2.

Can't say I'm too thrilled, and I'm scared to death of the rest of my sub, which will probably pop next week.

How does this card, which has no creases, marks, nor paper loss, grade the same as this:

What do you think? Do I have them hold it for review?

they are gona say its a 4 ST I guess which is a 2 straight if you have them review it now. But I still think the card should be in a straight 4. Send it back in with your next sub i think. Crack it out.

On the few cards I have subbed in lower condtion, I have found that there is a big difference in conditions within a particular grade due to stains, creases, centering, etc.

Any one of the ones I sent in could be a 3-5 and they usually are.
