Message from Danny- Mickey71 *UPDATE* 6/30

Hey guys,
Been on vacation this week so I haven't caught up with everything here lately in the card world but had this PM from Danny sent on Wednesday. To say the least my heart sunk seeing his note but I'm for sure going to visit him and try to keep his spirits up. Please keep him in your thoughts and prayers everyone, he's been through so much the last year. Thanks. Doug

Hello Doug,
I go in for major surgery tomorrow at Virginia Mason in Seattle. A mass has developed in my abdomen...about 3 inches long. It is right on the aeorta. Hopefully it's not attached. It will be a long procedure. If you want to let the guys know....that's cool. All the prayers help. I will be in there about 9 days if all goes well; so if you want to chat about cards....come on up. Thanks alot Doug.

Just got back from a visit with Danny at the hospital and he's doing well. Non cancerous on the tumor that was removed so that's a big relief and we walked up and down the hall a few times. He's not eating solid foods yet so that's one of the hurdles he must clear before he can go home. Looks like he can get out around the 4th or so. Tired but his spirits are good and I brought a few cards of mine for him to check to see if they were grade worthy, I think that help take his mind off things for a while. That's it, just thought I'd give everyone a update. Take care. Doug

Just got home this afternoon. I've actually been fairly strong for a number of days now; but my eating/bathroom was not working. I did alot of walking up and down the halls to build up my endurance. Being in for 15 days and getting out in the sunshine and the 75 degree heat was glorious. I actually broke down as my wife was getting the car. It was wonderful...tears of relief and joy all at once. I'll be honest....even though I've been through alot; I still feel very fortunate.

The surgery went well. Mass was 6 inches by 2 inches. Doctor got it all out. Lab results all came back very good.

Thank you to everyone for supporting me through this. A special thanks to Doug...who is a very nice gentleman. It was cool talking about vintage cards in the hospital.

Once again...thanks for all the well wishes.
