P, Welcome to the Jungle! The board members here are great and have a vast amount of knowledge on many types of cards. Hang in there, and I am sure someone will be able to assist you.

If there is stamping (an imprint) but no foil then the machine ran out of foil during the printing process. If there is no imprint where the foil would be then they were backdoored from the factory as sheets and cut up after-market.

Either way, they are not very rare, but you might be able to get a decent payoff from some player collectors (Marino, Sanders, Emmitt, Montana, Derrick Thomas).

  • there is no imprint on them, i listed 1 on the bay for a low price and an honest buyer told me i was silly and offer me 10 times what i listed it for, i was thinking they were back door to
thank god for honest people. the ones i have of larry johnson have 0s across the stats for 1987 and 1988 so i know that is an error right?

LJ play in 91/92 for the NBA and played the two seasons you speak of in junior college and next two in D1 with UNLV. It's likely Wild Card didn't have his stats for those two seasons or could only post college stats. As for the missing foil, it's a common occurence among all brands with no real price increase.
