What Time of Year Were Vintage Topps Baseball Cards Released?

This seems like something every vintage collector should know, but I don't. When were Topps cards released before they switch to releasing the sets in series? Was it before the season or during the season? If during, approximately when? Thanks!

When I was buying packs in 65 and 66 I remember them hitting the stores in early March.


Edited to add: Packs were released in series from 52 through 73.
