Saturday flea market junk wax find - Lots 'o' scans

Not even all junk. Stopped at the local flea market this afternoon hoping to find something like this. Lots of stars on top.

Cool thing is I've never opened up a pack of cards between 81 and 85. I was living in Spain at the time and at 16, not the least bit interested in baseball cards. These were my in between years that I never went back to, Grabbed the 89 Fleers to maybe get a Ripken FF

Got the whole deal for $55

This is gonna be hella fun

    Hiya Mike - super pickup!

That stuff a bit more money a while back. Should be fun.

Unfortunately I don't have to got far to find junk wax. I try not to think about it tho.

I just hope nobody searched them for all the autos and G/U image

There's about 3 rack boxes worth of 85 Topps. Any chance at the whole set from that?

Great deal image I wish I could find that kind of stuff at flea markets where I live.
  • If you wish to sell any of those that have Braves on top, I'd be interested in exchanging cash for them

Zep, whatever you do, do not open the 84 rack with Rose on top. JUST SAY NO!!!! image

One rack box of 85 topps would cost you more than $55. Awesome pick-up.

Pretty good luck with the 82 cellos - were those sequenced? if so, surprised they weren't searched

81 wax wasn't so great. cool cards though.

few HOF in the 85 and 87 Donruss packs

    image

Not gonna bother scanning the 89 Fleer - nothing great. Usual HOF that were there at the time. No Ripken FF or any rookies

Is that 85 donruss Seaver an error card?
  • Great pulls so far. You got everything pretty much. Cant ask for more.

Is that 85 donruss Seaver an error card?

Yes it is - Thats a picture of Floyd Banister. The corrected card only can be found when you purchase the 1985 complete set. Never came in packs.

I suppose that's good? LOL I did notice the difference between the 2 but mainly how black the area around his name is on one and not the other.

Looks like these originally came from 3 or 4 different sources. Some have a Caldor tag on them, some have Toys R Us and some have none

The Puckett does look really, really nice

I can't believe all the good cards that have popped out so far. Were none of these sequenced? hard to believe they've survived all this time without being searched

  • Love the 84 and 85 cards. Takes me back...
  • 1985 really takes me back. Those were the first cards I collected as a kid.

The 85 Topps Mattingly is one of my favorites of the 80's. Great pick up of cards.
