I have been a season ticket holder for the LA Kings longer than some of you have been around. The pain and suffering is now joy and happiness.
My seats are in the first row over the tunnel where the zamoni enters the arena which is where they brought in the Stanley Cup. What an incredible experience.

My granddaughter thinks this is normal. She is 14 months old and she was with us at every home game.

  • Awesome! I have tickets to the Kings Rally on Thursday.
  • Very nice stuff. One question. How much credit should go to Ron Hextall here ?

    Hi Jim,

Thanks so much for sharing your experience at the Stanley Cup final. After 44 years it must be a great feeling to watch your Kings win on home ice. With a core of Kopitar, Doughty, and Quick they will be competing for the Cup for a long time to come. Your grand daughter may think this is normal for much of her childhood.

We have similar seats to the Baby Kings (Manchester Monarchs), same corner, front row on the glass, and all my 12 year sees is winners! We are just north of Boston and in his 12 years he has seen the Patriots win 3, the Red Sox 2, the Celtics and Bruins one each. And now his Kings-Monarchs have won. He doesn't know anything but winning championships.

There were 14 former Monarchs on the Kings roster this year and we've seen most of them over the past 5 years. Way to go Kings!

Congrats......I went to game 4 of the Stanley Cup last year when the Bruins finally won. I am 41, so it was the first time I ever saw the B's win it all. When you watch countless games and year after year never win it all, when you finally raise the Cup it is very sweet. Those are great pics of you and the family.
  • Congrats on your cup, looks like you have great seats!!! Glad to see its a family event at the games.

    Huge fans is an understatement.

To go along with the story, my daughter met her husband as he sat in the seats with his mom next to the ones my daughter and I have.
They started dating in 2004 and were married in 2009. I arranged for them to have their engagement photos taken in the Staples center prior to a game against the Boston Bruins. The tough part was my son in laws mom passed from cancer in 2010 and didn't get to see her dream of the Kings win the cup. It was an emotional night for us.

Jim! So glad they won at home in game 6. As I watched the game I was thinking of you guys. (even though Ben beat me pretty bad in the hockey pool again).

My highlight was the crowd screaming LOOOO every time Lucky Luc was mentioned and when he finally held up the cup as a King! (like your daughter he was always one of my favourite players.)
