    Dpeck,

Thanks for the info. This is my first GAI card I have ever bought and I actually kind of like the GAI slab. Obviously, I want to see if I can cross the card to PSA for the greater reputation. Even if the card grades a grade lower it will probably raise the value of the card. One thing I like that GAI has in its holders is their label is visible from the top of the slab. This way you can identify the card by just looking at the top of the slab if it is stored. Pretty good idea there. I have never cracked out any TPG cards before so I will have to do my best to keep the card safe.

I just cracked my first card out of the new PSA holders and it is much more difficult.

Be careful as it is no where close to as easy as the prior holder.

I just tried another card and had an even more difficult time.

    WOW these are tough.

Has anyone else tried cracking them and if so what technique did you use?

The crack out video has crossed 5,000 views.

I have no idea how. It averages around 250 views a month and I figured at some point it would slow to a crawl. I guess a lot of people want to crack cards out of BGS slabs.

i found it and several others, as i recently bought a clyde drexler auto for an NBA 50 collection that was slabbed and I ultimately want to do a framed piece

i figured out i could get cards out of a PSA holder with just my swiss army knife, but BGS is something else altogether

Have you tried cracking anything out of the new PSA slab? Insane.

Not yet - Clyde was the older thinner one. I guess an improved holder is better for long term, but doesn't help for the resubmission. I imagine crack and resubs is a pretty small percentage of submissions anyway, so they're probably not cutting into their grading much at all.

The new holder is so tough to crack. People think the BGS holder is tough. The new PSA slab is simply dangerous to crack.

I would imagine at some point a method with surface but the one used for the video only causes flying pieces and a scared person trying to pry the slab open.

Thanks for sharing how to crack a card out of a BVG holder. I wished I would have seen this video eight months ago before my attempt to crack out a card of mine. I almost removed my index finger with my experience.

Looking for high grade rookie cards and unopened boxes/cases

Step number one in the Dpeck crack out method is to have a drink or two......you have to get rid of the nerves!

My old trusty screwdriver and hammer method has worked as well on the new slabs as the old.
