Is 2012 Bowman Football the same as 2012 Bowman Signatures?

Pardon my naivete here, but I bought one of those retail blaster boxes of what I thought to be 2012 Bowman football last week...I keep seeing all this "Bowman Signatures" stuff...what is the deal here? I didn't keep the box or pack wrappers of course, but I listed some of the rookies on eBay and they appear to be the same as some listings for "2012 Bowman Signatures."

I just "got back in" to the hobby, so I am a bit perplexed.

Bowman Signatures is a different set altogether than any previous Bowman set. I checked a couple sites and didn't even see a sell sheet for the basic Bowman set annual release. It's usually one of the first released with NFL Draft Picks in college uniforms. I would imagine that Upper Deck's exclusive contract with the NCAA is the reason behind it. I noticed on a checklist for the aforementioned set, the college players have generic uniforms.
  • This site lists it as 2012 Bowman, but has a "Bowman Signatures" logo.

Yes, they are what one might call the same. There was no Bowman 2010-2011, but 2009 was like that also. Bowman Draft Football, was the normal Bowman product and logo on card just said Bowman.
Collecting PSA graded Steve Young, Marcus Allen, Bret Saberhagen and 1980s Topps Cards.
Raw: Tony Gonzalez (low #'d cards, and especially 1/1's) and Steve Young.
  • I've been trying to figure this out too. I've avoided the Bowman Signatures boxs and have been buying the the Bowman football rack packs, but haven't seen any Bowman boxes. Although I did purchase a Bowman 8 pack blaster box. I'm waiting for it to arrive, but I distinctly remember it only saying Bowman. I'll post again once the box arrives.

The Bowman line you find in Target and Walmart is regular Bowman football (and no, it doesn't have the word 'Signatures' in the title) but looks just like the Bowman Signatures product that's a higher end, guaranteed auto box you'll find in hobby shops:

    ...I think.
  • Well I got the Bowman box today in the mail and it does resemble the blaster boxes you get at Target or Walmart. 8 packs in the box, 8 cards per pack. At least 3 RC's per pack. No Luck or RG3 thoughimage

Whats up with the Tim Tebow card? I saw someone had a BIN for $99.00 is this right? Thanks for any info

    Tebow and Manning are SPs.

I bought 3 hobby boxes of 2012 Bowman Signatures. Save yourself the money and skip this product. Unless you pull a Luck or RG3 auto, it is a complete waste of money. Save up for Finest or Chrome, at least you can pull some sweet refractors for the much less money per box.

Can someone explain to me why the rookies are not in their NFL uniforms? Or why their NFL uniforms weren't at least airbrushed onto the "painting" of the player? Or why there isn't even NFL team logos on the cards at all?

Because this set is just a pure money grab by Topps. Boxes will be at $100 or less in a few weeks. Makes me concerned about Finest. Chrome looks loaded.
