I can't believe the prices on 1954 Topps commons

Look at the prices on some low pop commons from the 1954 set in PSA-8.
Who says the vintage market is dead.

Registry really heats up the prices on these cards.

The Ben Wade card is one of the toughest 54 Topps cards to find in high grade. It will always bring a price like that. Most commons from the set can be had for $50-75 in PSA 8. A very underrated set in my opinion especialy with the star power in the set.

  • Before even opening this thread the first card I thought of was the Ben Wade...
Next MONTH? So he's saying that if he wins, the best-case scenario is that he'll be paying for it two weeks after the auction ends?

I was thinking it was either going to be Wade or Buster Mills, on the high side, or Ed McGhee, Johnny Schmitz, or Jim Rivera, on the low side.

I agree it is a VERY under rated set.I own a set with several cards graded. Most are in the 4 to 5 catagory. The set is loaded with the exception of the Mick.

Agree that the set is very underrated.

Always looking for Mantle cards such as Stahl Meyer, 1954 Dan Dee, 1959 Bazooka, 1960 Post, 1952 Star Cal Decal, 1952 Tip Top Bread Labels, 1953-54 Briggs Meat, and other Topps, Bowman, and oddball Mantles.
