Dormand postcards anyone with experience on these?

I have looked at Dormand postcards for a while now and am literally amazed by the photos on the cards. They just say "1950's New York Baseball" to me and I would love to dive in and do some collecting of these. Does anyone have experience with these cards?

I know there was some cards like the Hodges that were considered short prints but a hoard was just found that made them affordable now. Are there significant short prints still remaining?

What can I reasonable expect to pay for these cards? I have looked on Ebay and would like to know how close are the realized Ebay prices when compared to shows etc.

I assume non-used postcards will bring a premium but is there a signifcant premium for non-used cards?

I also see that there is a large size Rizzuto on line right now and was curious if this is a legitimate Dormand or something someone made on their own. Any thoughts?

Last question (at least for now)....Blank backs. Stay away from them or are these legit as well?

Thanks for any help you guys can give.
I am on a budget and I am not afraid to use it!!

I still need the Campanella for my set. There was one on eBay a few weeks ago in a PSA 3 for $60 but someone bought it before I could get the funds together. image

I do not know much about them
I do have 3 of these Mantles
I think they are cool- and cheap for a 50's Mantle card

Just finished the set, if you like '53 Bowman's you'll love these.
There are varying degrees of difficulty in the regular size set, with a few that are very tough and some variations that are brutal.
Then there is a medium size Mantle (very tough) and jumbo sized Rizzuto and Mantle, both of which are getting easier and cheaper due to a seemingly increasing supply.

Always looking for Topps Salesman Samples, pre '51 unopened packs, E90-2, E91a, N690 Kalamazoo Bats, and T204 Square Frame Ramly's

that was my Campy - sorry you missed it. The Rizzuto 9x12 is inexpensive - $25 or so. The Mick 9x12 usually goes for $500 plus. There are a number of difficult ones in the set and then many that can be had for $10 range.

Thanks for all the responses guys. I have really come to like these cards and will give the set a shot. It is going to take me quite awhile but it will be worth it in the end.

I recently picked up this Mickey Mantle. I have always enjoyed the Dormand's. The photography is exquisite.

Nice card. I have always loved this set and hopefully someday I will revisit them. I sold off what I had last year but always look at the Dormands as cards that scream 1950's which is an era I love.

Are you going to assemble the set or just stay with the Mantle?

Thank you. I'm not building a set but I always look for HOF. I also have a Dormand Reese in a PSA 6 and a Berra in a PSA 7.
