Whats the deal with the sudden price increases on Griffey Jr??

Seems that there is a sudden increase in price on the 88' Best Platinum Ken Griffey Jr cards, anyone know why? I purchased a PSA 9 about a yr ago for around $325 and now the PSA 8'S are up in the low $300 range..... I know these cards are limited, just a trend I'm seeing I guess.......
