Would you enter into a legit raffle to win a card ?

Let's say you had a chance at this card.

Ripken PSA 10

The owner of it wanted 20 people to put in $50.00 each. That means you get a 1 in 20 chance of winning this card for 50 bucks.
The owner sets it up so that the drawing is done at the national this year in Baltimore, where everyone who is associated with this
board can see the drawing. 20 names would be written on the same sized pieces of paper in front of everyone. They would be placed
in a cardboard box that is empty where everyone can see, and someone in the audience would be asked to pull the winner.

Would you take a chance at something like that if it was a card you were interested in ?

    For a charity, yes.

    For a seller, no.
I am working on the Nolan Ryan master set. Need 1004 more cards to complete. I might actually spend more on plastic than I did on cardboard.
  • Yes, should have mentioned that. Most raffles are for "charity".
This would be for a youth ice hockey program. Not necessarily a "charity", but
to try to raise money for kids to have fun. Hockey is very expensive.

This is not something that is going to be done. Just trying to see if it would garner any interests.
Charities across the country are not doing well in some areas. A Boston Bruins championship game used
signed stick couldn't muster over $300.00 in a recent charity. It was a team signed stick too.
Just trying to think of other ideas.
  • I would only if I were able to be there live for the drawing.

$50 is a bunch of money. It's more work but you'd probably find more success at a $20 level and sell more tickets.

I'd be interested in legit raffles as a buyer or seller for charity and not for charity.

I have been buying raffle tickets all my life and have never won. I would rather just donate to charities I believe in and buy the stuff I want.
